Frequently asked questions.
Do you do birthday parties?
Though we traditionally do not attend individual birthday parties, we may be able to attend depending on the time of year and our event calendar. Please contact us directly and we’ll see what we can do!
Does The Cheer Foundation charge money to come to events?
We happily attend intentionally chosen community events free of charge. We will usually only ask for a donation to our organization (or a partnering one) when it is a private company or social event.
What Exactly IS Dr. Happy?
Great question. Technically speaking, he’s a big fluffy blue monster with a fictitious medical degree specializing in pediatrics and happiness. But, similar to monsters you might find on Sesame Street or that call themselves Muppets, he is the friendliest and happiest monster you’ve ever met and means you no harm. Unless of course, you consider high-fives, hugs and sensational dance moves harmful.
You don’t seem to be very focused on fundraising, WHY?
We get it. It can be confusing to understand why an organization would exist in this time and age with the sole purpose of bringing happiness, with no ulterior motives. Call us crazy, but we’re the real deal. When did pure acts of kindness become a radical act?
Where do donations to your organization go?
100% of the donations we receive go toward enabling us to attend and host community outreach initiatives. We would encourage you to check out our donate page for more info.
Do you partner with ANY organization?
Yes, and no. While we believe that every organization and individual has the power to impact our community in a positive way, we will not attend or partner with organizations that we believe have questionable practices that could be harmful to our community.
Can I attend a HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER event?
Our partnerships with local and area hospitals come with their own restrictions for volunteering that we must adhere to for the wellbeing of those we’re serving, and our volunteers themselves. If this is something you are interested in, we would encourage that you join our Red Nose Volunteer Crew and express your interest in it as a first step!
Are you currently HIRING?
The Cheer Foundation is 100% volunteer run. So though we do not currently offer any paid positions, we would love to have you volunteer with us if you have a heart for impacting your community and bringing hope and joy to those who need it most.
Do you ONLY serve WNY?
Though we primarily serve Western New York, we are open to traveling depending on the event. After all, happiness and cheer can be spread anywhere. If you have a partnership inquiry, or specific event in mind that you think should be on our radar, shoot us a message and we’ll be happy to consider it.
